A unique five-week acredited course for MyELM volunteers

The East London Mosque invites you to invest your time in serving the communities.

We have designed an accredited programme for volunteers that will help you learn new skills in areas in da’wah, fundraising, administration, web and media.

Course Curriculumn

Overview

A brand new initiative designed to develop volunteers who are spiritually motivated and driven to serve the East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre. This special accredited training is delivered using the Prophetic framework; of nurturing trust and value (Al-Amin) and developing knowledge and competency (Al Qawi).

Successful completion of the course enables the participant to choose a specific department within the areas of fundraising, administration, outreach and engagement as well as digital media.

Module One: Allah loves the Muttahhireen

Week one starts off by laying the foundation of what is required of a person when serving the House of Allah.

We focus on two qualities; developing core values of integrity and competency. 

Other core areas of study include; understanding from Prophetic history and examples left by our righteous predecessors on the spiritual responsibilities of service.

Module Two: Custodians of the House of Allah

Week two looks at the historicity of mosques and sacred places of worship from the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Draw learnings from the power and influence of a mosque within a community and understanding the basic building blocks creating institutions that serve communities.

Module Three: A Century of Service

Week three connects you to the history of lived experiences (individuals) of leaders who laid the foundations of the East London Mosque. Your group discussions focuses on three different eras;

  • House to shed
  • Shed to mosque
  • Mosque to centre

GROUP BREAKOUT DISCUSSION | 1.5 HOURS

Module Four: Organisational Dynamics

Week four introduces the participant to the ‘Servant Leadership Model’, understanding hospitality and service, aligning deep inner purpose and spiritual aspirations. 

Lastly, participant can choose a personal development framework that helps them grow as leaders.

Module Five: Developing a ‘Baraka’ mindset

(Guest Speaker)

Week five connects you to a leading expert who will share spiritual milestones that illuminates hearts and empower livelihoods that transform communities. 

The keynote speaker will focus on developing inner-wealth aspiring for far reaching positive impact.

Module Six: Illuminating our pathway (Excursions)

Our learning excursions are an exchange of ideas and taking learnings from the greatest mosques and centres from around the world.
